Lamp no 14.950 aka the “Praying Mantis” — Inspired by the dynamic form of the insect from which it owes its name, this French icon of the 1950s features a wooden arched body that comes to a fine point with an amorphic nodule towards its apex. The shade is made from pleated cellulose acetate film, commonly called rhodoïd. It is the same material that was originally used! Douglas Mont brings back Rispal’s legendary creations “Nouvelles Formes” with the release of new models. He honours at the same time the brand’s original style and DNA and pays tribute to the avant-gardism culture.
