1. Fabric

Day to day care

Protect from direct sunlight.

Regularly vacuum on low suction, using the upholstery attachment. Rotate reversible cushions regularly.

Spot cleaning

Treat spills and stains as soon as possible:

Gently remove soil or mop any liquids from the surface of the fabric. Do not scrub.

Apply dry cleaning solvent strictly according to instructions.

Do not saturate the fabric with water or other cleaning liquids. If further cleaning is needed, professional use of dry-cleaning or hot water extraction machines is recommended.

Recommendations

Do not brush fabric or use a vacuum attachment with a rotary brush.

Do not saturate the fabric with water or cleaning liquids.

Only use upholstery detergents.

Dry in shade away from direct heat or sunlight.

2. Leather

Day to day care

Protect from direct sunlight, direct heat and weather. Regularly dust with clean dry duster.

Spot cleaning

Treat spills and stains as soon as possible:

Carefully remove soil or mop any liquids from the surface of the fabric.

Gently wipe with a soft soapy cloth.

Allow drying, and then polish with a soft woolen cloth. Persistent stains may require treatment by a professional cleaner.

Recommendations

Do not use shoe, floor or laundry cleaner, shoe cream or saddlery products, solvents or cleaning fluids, abrasive powder or paste cleaners, floor, furniture or shoe polishes.

Avoid hard rubbing or scrubbing. Do not wet excessively.

Clean contact areas of perspiration and body oils regularly.

Use leather cleaners strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Occasional use of proprietary leather conditioner recommended. Dry away from direct heat.

3. Vinyl

Day to day care

Protect from direct sunlight.

Regularly dust with clean dry duster.

Spot cleaning

Treat spills and stains as soon as possible:

Carefully remove soil or mop any liquids from the surface of the fabric.

Wipe with a clean cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.

Remove residual detergent with a damp cloth dampened in water. Persistent marks may need solvents.

Check the effects of any solvents on a hidden area of cover.

Recommendations

Do not clean with hot water extraction or on-site dry-cleaning machines.

Do not use abrasive powder or paste cleaners.

Do not wet excessively.

A soft bristle brush may be used to remove ingrained soil. Avoid scratching by gentle brushing.

Dry in shade away from direct heat.

4. Veneer

Day to day care

Protect from direct sunlight.

Regularly dust surface with a damp cloth, in the direction of the natural grain.

Spot cleaning

Treat spills and stains as soon as possible:

Wipe down with a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent.

Marks can be removed by rubbing a paste wax evenly onto the surface in a circular motion around the dirty area.

Then rub the entire table top in the direction of the grain. Dry in shade away from direct heat or sunlight.

Scratches

A product called ‘Scratch Out’ can restore scratches caused by dragging objects across the surface of the table.

Use this product in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Minor dents

They can be repaired by using colored wax sticks.

Heat the wax color which is the closest match to the veneer and apply to the dented area.

Gently rub with a polishing cloth.

For more visible dents, the surface may need to be professionally stripped back and re-lacquered.

Recommendations

Do not wet the tabletop.

Do not expose surface to alcohol.

Do not place cold or hot objects directly onto the surface of the table.

Avoid scratches by using placemats and coasters as well as not dragging objects across the surface or write directly onto it.

Do not use scouring pads, powder, concentrated detergents or silicone based furniture polishes.

5. Laminate

Day to day care

Avoid constant exposure to direct sunlight and moisture. Wipe over with a clean soft damp cloth.

Soiled surfaces and light stains can be removed using warm soapy water or a non abrasive or non acidic detergent.

Spot cleaning

Treat spills and stains as soon as possible:

Remove by using the normal cleaning method or appropriate solvents. If the stain persists, apply a mild abrasive such as white toothpaste using a soft toothbrush or cloth. (This solution can also be used for slight scorch marks).

Scratches

Fine scratches or scuff marks can often be removed by the application of a good quality car polish.

Recommendations

Avoid using wax and polishes.

Do not use harsh abrasives or scourers.

Do not cut directly onto the surface.

Avoid sliding heavy metallic or earthenware objects across the surface of table.

Although laminates can withstand boiling water and high temperatures, avoid placing hot objects directly onto the surface of the table.

6. Polished Aluminum

Day to day care

Wash coated surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in detergent and warm water, rinse thoroughly and dry.

Wash any film or residue with hot water.

A household cleaner can also be used then wiped with a lint free cloth.

Spot cleaning

Dirt/ Oil: Use very hot water and strong soap, then dry with a soft, lint free towel.

Recommendations

Do not use abrasive cleaners, pads or brushes.

7. Brushed Aluminum

Day to day care

Wash coated surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in detergent and warm water, rinse thoroughly and dry.

Wash any film or residue with hot water.

A household cleaner such can also be used then wiped with a lint-free cloth.

Spot cleaning

Dirt/ Oil: Use very hot water and strong soap, then lightly scrub in the direction of the aluminum grain with a soft bristled or Scotch-Brite pad. Treat stains with appropriate cleaner, leave the cleaner sit until the stain is dissolved, then follow the normal cleaning instructions.

Recommendations

Do not use stainless steel cleaner.

8. Polished Chrome

Day to day care

Dust regularly.

Wet cloth in a non abrasive cleaner such as liquid dish soap, and rub the polished chrome component lightly until the original luster reappears.

Dry the component with a soft cloth to remove any soap residue.

9. Powder Coated Metal

Day to day care

Wash coated surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in detergent and warm water, rinse thoroughly and dry.

Wash any film or residue with hot water.

A household cleaner can also be used then wiped with a lint free cloth.

Scratches

Remove scuff marks and scratches from low-gloss coatings with pre-softened paste wax, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Remove scuff marks and scratches from high-gloss coatings automotive polishing compounds, either liquid or paste.

After polishing, apply a pre-softened automotive paste wax to restore original sheen.

10. Stainless Steel

Day to day care

Regular dusting and wipe down with a soft, non-abrasive cloth dampened with a stainless steel cleaning agent.

Use only cleaning agents recommended for stainless steel.

Wipe dry the surface with a clean cloth.

11. Marble

Day to day care

Wipe spills as soon immediately.

Use pH balanced cleaners and soap free detergents, like mild dish-washing liquid. Rinse the tile and grout thoroughly to remove any remaining cleaner.

Buff the surface with a chamois.

Spot cleaning

Treat spills and stains as soon as possible:

Remove by using the normal cleaning method. If the stain persists, apply a pH balanced scouring cleaner using a soft bristled brush.

Recommendations

Do not use acidic cleaner as it will etch and remove the polished surface.

Do not use abrasive or powdered cleaners.

Some common food and drinks contain acids and should be manipulated with caution.

Avoid scratches by using placemats.

12. Glass

Day to day care

Wash using cleaning products specially designed for glass. Cloth, sponge or chamois can be used.

Do not use abrasive cleaner as it will scratch the glass surface.

13. Plastic

Day to day care

Wash plastic surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.

Do not use solvents or abrasive kitchen cleaners.
